Winterfest 2026 Royalty Fundraiser
Congratulations to Lynn and Kevin on being voted 2025 Winterfest Royalty! Thanks for all you do in the Community!

How it works:
Vote with your Wallet! The nominee with the most money raised will be crowned.
Add money to your candidate’s jar to vote for them!
Cheques can be made out to “Castor Winterfest” or please reach out for other payment options or if you need a receipt.
Voting will close on Feb 1. Join us at the Lodge for the Coronation Ceremony on Thurs Feb 5, at 2:30 and celebrate the nominees. We will have coffee, snacks, and a chance to visit and look at the scrap books from past winterfests.
Find voting jars at The Purple Platypus, Let's Scissor Hair Co., Dark Knight Electric, Paintearth Lodge, and Castor Value Drug Mart.
All money raised is for Winterfest! It helps to keep Winterfest free and accessible to everyone.

Cake Walk Fundraiser
Join us at the Legion Feb 6 from 5 to 7 (come and go is fine) for a chance to win a cake! Cost is $2-5 per round

What is a cake walk? Similar to musical chairs but with more dancing and a cake winner every round!

Cutter Show and Teamster Meet-Up
Are you a teamster with a team of horses you would like to show off? Want a chance to hangout with and learn from fellow teamsters? Please join us at Winterfest!
Feb 7 starting at 2pm to the west the elevator. We have an area that will work for both wheels and cutters, so bring what you would like!

If you are looking to learn or are a former winterfest teamster you are also welcome!

Public: Welcome to come have a cowboy coffee around the fire and catch a ride on a sleigh starting at 2pm!
Please park at UFA or the museum to leave the elevator area open for the horses to safely get around.
We will let the Teamsters do one pass first, but then they will be open to giving rides!​
Farmers Market
Warm up at the Community Hall and take in some live music and shopping! Sign up to be a vendor here.​
Free Hot Chocolate and Coffee!
Castor Museum
Take in Castor's history at the historic train station and main street pharmacy museums. Open 1-3 on Feb 7.
Candle Making Workshop
Candle making workshop is on Sunday Feb 8 at 2pm, at the hall. Cost is only $10, all materials provided! Register at the Purple Platypus or by emailing. Deadline to sign up is Feb 2.

Winter Squash Bench Show
If your squash weren't ready duiring fair in August, this is the place to enter them! Great prizes!

2. Ugliest Winter Squash
3. Longest Winter Squash
4. Winter Squash Royalty (Style a winter squash into a royal looking figure)

Age Classes
A: Junior: 18 and under
B: Adult: Over 18
C: Age 5 and under (Winter Squash Royalty only)

Entries in sections 1-3 must be grown by the entrant, but Winter Squash Royalty only needs to be crafted by the entrant.

Bring entries to the Legion On Feb 6 from 4-7 pm or Feb 7 from 9-10 am​.
View all the Squash at the Legion on Feb 7 from 11-4:00.
Please pick up entries at 5:30pm.
Chilli Cook Off
Cook your best pot of Chilli and serve it either from your own business location or the Legion on Feb 7.
Blind judging and people's choice as well as random prizes available. PEPS bucks prizes donated by Town of Castor!

Winterfest will provide all serving materials needed.
People's choice ballot drop offs at the Hall and Legion.
Cook-off starts at noon all over town and ususally wraps up by 2. Map coming soon!

Bring your hunting tropies for measuring or come see all the antlers.
Feb 7- Curling Rink Upstairs starting at 3pm. Bar open!

Snow Sculpture Theme for 2026: Light!
Participate in Winterfest and build a snow sculpture to get in the Winterfest mood! Sculpture judging will take place on Feb 7 at noon. Winners announced and ribbons handed out at the Hall at 4:30. If you are off the main drag, please let us know so we do not miss your masterpiece!
Message to book a snow pile drop if you need email or call/text (seven four zero fifty-two-sixty-five). Please book snow by Jan 28! Thanks to the Town of Castor for moving snow!
